MANUFACTURING AWARDS OF DISTINCTION RESCHEDULED TO 2021;
This year, the Greater Green Bay Chamber is taking a different approach to celebrating Manufacturing Month and has rescheduled its annual Manufacturing Awards of Distinction event to 2021.
To celebrate Manufacturing Month in October – with the support of presenting sponsor, Baker Tilly – will showcase highlights from our very strong manufacturing industry through a number of marketing and communication opportunities.
The Chamber will celebrate the month with:
Manufacturing accounts for more than 19% of the state’s gross domestic product.
This industry reduced the state’s unemployment rate from 14.1% to 6.2% in four months, continuing to hire throughout 2020.
The diversification of sectors within our manufacturing cluster, which comprises 20% of our regional economy, has allowed for the return of jobs faster than almost all other states in the Midwest.
“We applaud the ingenuity, innovation and quick response to market demands our manufacturers have displayed during constant upheaval,” said Laurie Radke, president and CEO, Greater Green Bay Chamber. “With our Celebration of Manufacturing Month, we will strive to celebrate our manufacturers, a very humble group that does not ask for recognition but deserves it more than ever.”
“Baker Tilly has been a proud supporter of the Manufacturing Awards of Distinction for over two decades. The true cornerstone of this program is the great manufacturers right here in Northeast Wisconsin. These companies continue to build, continue to make products we use and rely upon each and every day – to some extent even more so right now,” said Greg Sofra, CPA, Baker Tilly. “All of us at Baker Tilly are excited to recognize and celebrate Northeast Wisconsin manufacturers during Manufacturing Month.”
