Green Bay, Wis. - (Jan. 11, 2019) - The Partners in Education program of the Greater Green Bay Chamber is pleased to announce the 2019 Golden Apple Award nominees.
Each year, the Golden Apple Awards program improves community awareness of the quality of education in the Greater Green Bay area by recognizing high standards of professionalism, leadership and innovation in teaching with the Golden Apple Awards. To view the complete list of this year’s eligible nominees, visit greatergbc.org/GoldenApples.
Thank you to all who completed a nomination form and for taking the time to share how teachers have impacted you. A record 1,965 nominations were received.
Thank you to the volunteers who devoted time to kick off the process and thank our more than 5,000 DPI-certified teachers in the Greater Green Bay area.
This event is made possible with the assistance of our Golden Apple major sponsors: Associated Bank, WLUK FOX 11, Green Bay Packaging, Green Bay Press-Gazette, Humana, Imperial, M3 Insurance, Schneider Foundation and Shopko Foundation.
Eight recipients (individuals and/or teams of teachers) and 40 Teachers of Distinction are selected for the Golden Apple Awards annually through a multi-level screening of anonymous applications and personal interviews. Selection criteria are based on the National Board of Professional Teaching standards, which identify the essential knowledge, skills and dispositions expected of experienced, quality teachers. The Teachers of Distinction and the Golden Apple Awards recipients will be announced in the near future.
All are welcome to help us celebrate our outstanding area educators by attending the 26th annual Golden Apple Awards event on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. Register now to attend at greatergbc.org/GoldenApples.
