Each year, the Golden Apple Awards program improves community awareness of the quality of education in the Greater Green Bay area by recognizing high standards of professionalism, leadership and innovation in teaching with the Golden Apple Awards. The Golden Apple Awards’ multi-level screening process involves reviewing applications and hosting personal interviews to narrow the pool of applicants to 45 Teachers of Distinction. Selection criteria are based on the National Board of Professional Teaching standards, which identify the essential knowledge, skills and dispositions expected of experienced, quality teachers. The final eight Golden Apple Award recipients are selected from the Teachers of Distinction honorees.

Thank you to our Golden Apple major sponsors: Associated Bank, WLUK FOX 11, Green Bay Packaging, Green Bay Press-Gazette, Humana, Imperial, M3 Insurance, Schneider Foundation and Shopko Foundation. Thank you to the multitude of community volunteers who helped kick off the Golden Apple process and evaluated applications. The assistance of our major sponsors and volunteers help make the program successful.
