Types of Volunteer Opportunities
Inspirational Navigators: Some of our students are overwhelmed with the number of exhibitors and opportunities throughout the event and need some one on one attention to help them find an exhibit that interests them. As an inspirational Navigator, your role will be the knowledgeable expert of the exhibitors in your Career Zone. Approach students or groups of students who look hesitant, unengaged, or unsure of where to begin. Ask them questions about their interests, and help them start a conversation with one of the exhibitors.
Rotation Leaders: The students arrive in groups and rotate through career zones in intervals. In this role you will monitor the pathway between career zones, engage students who arrive early in conversation about what they saw, their career interests, and talk to them about your career or college experience until the rotation announcement is made. Then, allow the students to move into the next career zone.
Career Zone Leaders: This group of volunteers are knowledgeable about the schedule for their career zone and provide assistance to exhibitors and school staff regarding the day's schedule, including breaks, lunch time, exhibitor hideaways, restrooms, etc.
