Current Mentoring Program

The goal of the Current Mentoring Program is to help young professionals develop and reach their own potential through mentoring. Mentees are members of Current – Young Professionals who are actively seeking guidance and coaching to enhance their career potential. Mentors are personal members of the Greater Green Bay Chamber who are respected leaders from a variety of businesses and industries.

The Current Mentoring Program will:

  • Establish a confidential and trusting relationship between the mentor and mentee. 
  • Provide the mentee with the information and insights necessary to enable him/her to be successful in their chosen career.
  • Provide an opportunity for the mentor to support, coach and guide a young professional in his/her leadership development.

Mentoring expectations:

  • Mentoring pairs are most successful when basic roles and responsibilities are defined and understood. 
  • Mentors and mentees will meet face-to-face on a regular basis, usually once a month. 
  • Both mentors and mentees will set and share their goals for success of the mentoring relationship.
  • The mentee will solicit the mentor’s opinions and advice.
  • The mentor will provide guidance, as requested, using personal experiences to offer perspective.
  • The mentee will take responsibility for his/her growth and success.

Matches will be expected to meet a minimum of one hour per month during a one-year pairing. Additional communications via email and/or phone may be needed. Meeting times will be determined by participating individuals.

The matching process:

Our selection process is designed to properly align our mentors and mentees to ensure a positive experience for both individuals. Mentees and mentors will complete a questionnaire detailing areas of interest that properly align mentee desired outcomes with a mentor who has expertise in those respective areas. Because the goal is to properly align areas of interest, we may not be able to match you immediately. The matching process will take place quarterly.
