YPAC

Young Professional Advisory Council (YPAC)

Purpose

Purpose Statement: To engage young professionals civically by identifying or creating programmatic or policy opportunities of importance to the young professionals of Green Bay and communicating with our elected officials those issues of importance to us, the young professionals of Green Bay.

Identify

YPAC engages with young professionals, community members and organizations to understand what’s important to the modern young professional. Issues identified should impact the ability for the Greater Green Bay area to attract and retain professionals to the area. YPAC will leverage learnings from other communities and stay active in local development and policy proposals to isolate key issues.

Research

Issues identified will be properly researched and examined. YPAC will involve impacted parties, conducting interviews and performing analysis with the intention of taking positions on matters of significance to young professionals. The positions should enhance the lives of young professionals – making the Greater Green Bay area a more desirable place to live and work.

Promote

YPAC gives young professionals a voice in the conversation; a voice to the Mayor of Green Bay and a voice to community members. This young professional perspective will be shared in various media platforms including local publications and social media with the goal of adding value to community conversations. All messages will be intended to educate and inspire action.

Sarah Krier - Chair

Breakthrough

Sarah Krier, a digital marketing manager for Breakthrough, joined YPAC after graduating college and moving to Green Bay. YPAC allowed her to build her identity and sense of community while also providing a voice within the Greater Green Bay area.

She states, "Being on a committee gives you a chance to help drive the initiatives, events and opportunities that make being a YP enjoyable."

When not at work and committee meetings, Sarah enjoys teaching and practicing yoga, swing dancing, hiking and rock climbing and frequenting local breweries.

Lydia Harrer - Co-chair

Capital Credit Union

Lydia Harrer, Senior Marketing Specialist at Capital Credit Union, has been involved with YPAC since the Fall of 2018. She became involved after attending various Current events and was looking for something more in-depth. She enjoys being a part of YPAC because it allows for a creative outlet to make change in a local environment, and it is exciting to see the community work together to make itself better. On her free time, Lydia enjoys riding her motorcycle through the Wisconsin countryside and visiting historic places.
