Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport Ranked Among Best Small U.S. Airports for On-Time Flights

Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB) has been recognized as one of the best small airports in the United States for on-time flights, according to a new analysis by AirAdvisor that evaluated flight delay data from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The report analyzed delay patterns at small and regional airports nationwide using federal data from May 2024 through May 2025. GRB was among a five-way tie for the top ranking, joining Santa Barbara (CA), Morgantown (WV), Durango-La Plata County (CO), and Northeast Wyoming Regional (WY) as the most punctual small airports in the country.

According to the study, these airports reported no instances of flights departing after 5 p.m. that were delayed by 60 minutes or more, demonstrating strong operational reliability and schedule recovery earlier in the day.

“This recognition is a testament to the quality of the airlines that serve Green Bay and the dedicated staff who manage the many intricacies of flight operations every day,” said GRB Airport Director Marty Piette. “From airline crews to operations teams, maintenance personnel, and ground staff, it takes coordination and commitment to keep flights running smoothly for our passengers.”

AirAdvisor’s analysis focused on two key metrics: the percentage of chronically delayed routes—where more than half of arrivals were delayed by over 30 minutes—and the rate of flights departing after 5 p.m. that arrived more than 60 minutes late. GRB’s performance placed it among the nation’s most reliable small airports for travelers.

Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach said the ranking reflects the collaboration and professionalism of the airport’s partners.

“We appreciate the airlines that choose to serve Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport and the dedicated ground handlers and support teams who help ensure every arrival and departure operates smoothly,” Streckenbach said. “Their hard work and dedication help make GRB a dependable and convenient gateway for Northeast Wisconsin.”

Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport continues to serve as a vital transportation hub for the region, connecting travelers to major airline networks while providing a convenient and efficient travel experience close to home.
