MEET CATHERINE THOMPSON

Chamber Ambassadors represent the Greater Green Bay Chamber in the community and actively engage with members and nonmembers. These dedicated volunteers serve as trusted liaisons, answering questions about membership, promoting local businesses, attending Chamber events and celebrating milestones at ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings.

Every Chamber Ambassador brings a unique story and a personal commitment to making Green Bay a better place to live, work and do business. In this monthly blog series, we introduce the passionate individuals who give their time, energy and enthusiasm to serve our members.

Catherine Thompson became a Chamber Ambassador in September 2023. She calls her experience “incredibly rewarding” and has enjoyed building meaningful connections with others in the business community: “Building these connections ensures that businesses remain visible, engaged and supported through the Chamber’s events and programs.”

A Sales Representative at Zenith Express, Inc., she decided to become a Chamber Ambassador to expand her network, give back to the community, and get more insight into leadership. In the past two years, she credits the role for providing her with countless personal and professional growth opportunities.

One specific retention call with a Chamber member sticks out to Catherine. The member expressed interest in organizing a ribbon cutting and participating in other Chamber events. She was able to quickly connect them to a Chamber staff member, and as a result, the member business successfully hosted a well-attended ribbon cutting event that increased their visibility and engagement within the business community.

Catherine says some of her favorite memories of being a Chamber Ambassador come from the group’s monthly meetings: “I enjoy the spontaneity and variety, especially the ice breakers.”

What would she say to someone interested in becoming a Chamber Ambassador? “Don’t hesitate! Take the step and get involved. The role offers countless benefits, from expanding your professional network to gaining visibility within the business community. I’m genuinely glad I made the decision to join; it’s been a rewarding experience both personally and professionally.”
