Give BLood and Score Green bay Blizzard Tickets
Community members are invited to a special event celebrating local lifesavers at The Community Blood Center’s (CBC) Green Bay Donor Center on Thursday, March 26! The event is part of The Lifesaving Drive, a community-wide effort to strengthen the local blood supply powered by Johnson Financial Group (JFG) and supported by the Green Bay Blizzard (GBB) and CBC.

All are welcome to attend, enjoy a meal catered by Margarita’s of Green Bay and meet special Blizzard guests in the evening. Eligible donors are encouraged to give blood, make a meaningful difference and receive limited-edition giveaways.
Donors also earn tickets to an exclusive appreciation experience at the Blizzard’s June 12 home game, along with all presenting donors now through Friday, June 5! Tickets include cheering on the Blizzard from some of the best seats in the Resch Center, creating a fan tunnel, participating in an exclusive autograph signing and enjoying a VIP pre-game tailgate.

“About 65% of the population is eligible to donate blood, but only 3% do,” said John Hagins, President & CEO, The Community Blood Center. “Join us by donating, raising awareness or hosting a blood drive at your organization. We are asking everyone to rally around this cause.”
The Lifesaving Drive Donor Night comes during a critical need for multiple blood types and platelets, as hazardous winter weather led to about 200 canceled appointments on Monday, March 16 alone. Cold and flu season and spring vacations are expected to continue contributing to low appointments for weeks.

“Our commitment to blood donation is very personal,” said Bruce Zak, Regional President at JFG and CBC Board Chair. “About two years ago my nephew graduated from high school and was off to play college football. The summer he was ready to leave, he was diagnosed with lymphoma. Instead of going to college, he embarked on a six-month battle and worked with local hospitals. Blood products generated from CBC helped with his treatments.”
“We believe winning isn’t just about what happens on the field. It’s about how we show up for our neighbors. That’s why we’re honored to team up with JFG, CBC and other advocates in our area,” said Ryan Hopson, Director of Sales for the Green Bay Blizzard. “By coming together to boost the blood supply, we make a winning play for patients right in our own backyard.”
